Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
a couple of things to make it clear for people who don’t spend half their time thinking about orientations (which is fair enough I guess, but come on it’s heaps interesting so why don’t you? I don’t understand)
all of these -romantic terms can have -sexual equivalents (ie demisexual is essentially the same premise as demiromanic but with sexual attraction)
aromantic people are not necessarily void of sexual attraction
people can have ‘conflicting’ -romantic and -sexual attractions (ie homoromantic but heterosexual)
there are areas in between so most people are not one or the other, okay? Repeat after me, “sexuality is a spectrum and while categories are fun and generally make things easier they are not to be taken as seriously as people seem to”
this comic is probably the best I’ve seen to describe these things, so read up y’all, they’re handy things to understand
